Job Requirements

Major Downtown NYC financial services firm is seeking either a Senior C++/UNIX Quantitative Developer candidate or a Senior JAVA Quantitative Developer candidate to join their Quantitative Risk Management Team. The incorporated or W2 independent consultant will have strong querying database skills using SQL, previously worked in a Quantitative Developer or Quantitative Analyst role supporting preferably both Fixed Income and Equity applications in either a front or middle office capacity. There will be close daily interaction with the Quantitative Analysts within this Risk Management Group, therefore familiarity with the products and some understanding of pricing and risk management is vital. The ideal candidate will have subject matter knowledge in Fixed Income, Equities, Futures and Options with a PhD in a quantitative discipline or all the above skills required and a Masters in Financial Engineering or Math or Physics. Candidates without futures and options are unlikely to be considered.

This strong UNIX / C++ Quantitative Developer candidate or strong JAVA Quantitative Developer independent consulting opportunity has opened up in a fixed income and equity products area (and their derivatives particularly futures and options) due to changes in regulatory oversight. The selected UNIX/C++ Quantitative Developer or JAVA Quantitative Developer candidate will be developing systems in the support of new margin requirements across various product lines and the enhancement of new VaR methodologies. Secondary components to the assignment include UAT, back testing and stress testing to meet the regulatory deadlines. Once again, the area supports fixed income and equity products and their derivatives particularly futures and options.

(Ideally regionally local NYC area candidates preferred, no interviewing, travel or relocation expenses are provided for this opportunity. No visa sponsorship available and no 3rd party referrals, agencies or corp to corp sub-contracting referrals from multi-employee consulting companies, please, for any WSI requirements, no exceptions).

This long term project in Downtown, NYC offers an initial six months+ long term renewable independent contract with a generous starting rate in the $700/day to $725/day range with no expenses available. Candidates with solid skills, competitive rates will be reviewed first.
(No H1/H1B Visa or transfer sponsorship available. No 3rd party referrals, agencies or corp to corp subcontracting referrals from multi-employee consulting companies, please, for any WSI requirements, no exceptions). If you use E-mail (strongly preferred) to respond, please e-mail your Word, RTF or Text resume with contact information, address and phones, (no URL resume links or Zip files and please do not return a copy of this announcement with your response) to Jay C., with the subject line (or title and skills) of this message in the subject line of the message you send, no job numbers only, please. (Those are assigned by the various websites, and I don’t know what the numbers refer to), thanks, at jayc@wsinationwide.com. Qualified candidates will have clear English speaking skills not requiring repeating and two years+ paid USA experience.

If you know someone who might qualify, or is coming to the New York / NY, New Jersey / NJ, Connecticut/ CT or Pennsylvania / PA area, (we have several additional open employment and consulting requirements for all of which no visa sponsorship is available and no 3rd party referrals, agencies or referrals from multi-employee consulting companies, please, for any WSI requirements), please e-mail a Word, RTF or Text resume with contact information, address and phones to Jay C., with the subject line of this message in the subject line of the message you send, (no URL resume links or ZIP files and please do not return a copy of this announcement with your response) at jayc@wsinationwide.com fax to 212-426-2558 or call 212-410-1400.

(To insure formatting & print quality, you may also mail a copy to me at WSI, 1617 Third Avenue, Box #6415, New York, NY 10128-0004).

A full listing of all WSI requirements can be seen at http://www.wsinationwide.com

When resumes are received, the candidate is contacted if there is a match, the situation is thoroughly described and the candidate tells us how they would like us to proceed. No information leaves our office without prior approval. This creates long term relationships, which we encourage.

WSI is a specialty recruiting organization with over twenty years experience and fees paid by our selected client companies, freeing our hands to find top level candidates for better projects all over the USA.
